Certificate Issuance

Digital certificates are issued by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki PKI according to the AUTH PKI Certificate Practice Policy/Certificate Practice Statement and to our Certification Procedures in general. There are two categories of digital certificates under issue; User Certificates and Server Certificates.

  • User certificates can be issued to persons who have an official relationship with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki PKI. The persons are required to have a valid e-mail address.
  • Server Certificates can be issued to server computer systems that are part of the network infrastructure of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki PKI and are managed by authorised personnel. Personnel responsible for the operation and management of the above server must have a User Certificate.
Certificate Application

The candidate subscriber, before making an application for a digital certificate, should read and accept the "AUTH PKI Certificate Practice Policy/Certificate Practice Statement" and should have already trusted the Root Certification Authority that signed the AUTh Central Certification Authority after having followed the instructions of this link.

User Certificate Request

Users must apply for the certificate using the appropriate secure web page.

Server Certificate Request

The appointed server administrator must apply for the issuance of a server certificate using the appropriate secure web page.
